Jen VanBrederode joined University Financial Aid and the University Registrar in February 2023 to serve as a dedicated resource for veteran and military students. Jen coordinates military educational benefits across Yale College and the graduate and professional schools. She is the primary point of contact for guidance, counseling, and support related to veteran and military student resources. She has extensive experience securing veteran’s benefits, reconciling veteran and Yellow-Ribbon funding, and presenting financial literacy information to prospective and continuing students.
Jen earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Before coming to Yale, she worked in Quinnipiac University’s financial aid office for 15 years, the last three of which as associate director of financial aid, working with veterans and military students.
