There are multiple ways to be involved in military and veteran student life in the Yale and New Haven community. Explore the various community service-oriented and social groups that are available on campus.
Yale Veteran and Military Affairs
Veteran and Military Affairs (VetMil) supports students, faculty, staff, and alumni, and assists veterans in accessing services and resources both within and external to Yale. VetMil offers events, programs, and services that support community, education, and advocacy efforts across the university and enhance the veteran’s experience while uniting our Yale community.
International Military Veterans Club at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs
Yale Jackson School International Military Veterans Club’s mission is to build a community of military families that offers support and promotes cross-cultural understanding. We prioritize building strong relationships and fostering inclusivity to help military families thrive during their time at Yale and beyond. We recognize the unique challenges of military life and strive to provide a network to help families navigate those challenges. We aim to establish lasting friendships that transcend borders and cultures by connecting international military families, empowering us to build a better future together.
The Veterans Club at Yale School of Management
The Veterans Club at Yale School of Management is a student-run organization dedicated to fostering SOM’s military and military-connected community and supporting veterans. Through social events, mentorship programs, and resource sharing, we aim to help our members succeed in their academic and professional pursuits while also connecting with others throughout Yale’s military and veteran’s network.
Yale Law Veterans Association
The Yale Law Veteran’s Association represents the interests of current and former members of the military at Yale Law School. Our goal is to connect members of the Yale Law School community–including JD students, graduate students, faculty, and staff–who have served in the armed forces. Throughout the year, we host a variety of social events, lectures, and informational events.
Yale Undergraduate Veterans Society
The Yale Undergraduate Veterans Society (YUVS) seeks to prepare veterans from diverse academic and socioeconomic backgrounds to be successful, ethical, and productive leaders at Yale University and beyond. To this end, YUVS will seek to (1) promote the representation of veterans at Yale, (2) provide its members with opportunities to engage with the broader national student veteran community, (3) organize and participate in events at Yale that will help further development opportunities, (4) support and assist in efforts that increase the number of veterans matriculated at Yale.
Yale NROTC Undergraduate Association
We are committed to ensuring that all members have every opportunity to develop as young officers (for those who are NROTC midshipmen), and as Yale students - mentally, morally, and physically. Often, the cost of required NROTC events and training evolutions cannot be covered by official NROTC unit funds, meaning that the cost is passed down to the midshipmen. We want to ensure that no midshipmen are ever limited in their training as future officers and, therefore, strive to provide them with the resources they need. As an organization, the three main resources we provide are (1) an inclusive community for all members; (2) financial assistance for ROTC training activities; and (3) events that connect Association members with the U.S. Navy, Yale NROTC alumni, and the many resources provided by Yale University.
Yale AFROTC Undergraduate Association
We are committed to ensuring that all members have every opportunity to develop as young officers (for those who are AFROTC cadets), and as Yale students - mentally, morally, and physically. Often, the cost of required AFROTC events and training evolutions cannot be covered by official AFROTC unit funds, meaning that the cost is passed down to the cadets. We want to ensure that no cadets are ever limited in their training as future officers - and, therefore, we will strive to provide them with the resources they need. As an organization, the three main resources we provide are (1) an inclusive community for all members; (2) financial assistance for ROTC training activities; and (3) events that connect Association members with the U.S. Air Force, Yale AFROTC alumni, and the many resources provided by Yale University.
Semper Fi Society
The purpose of the Semper Fidelis Society is to prepare Marine option midshipman and Marine officer prospects at Yale morally, mentally, and physically for the rigors of Officer Candidate School, and to foster camaraderie among those who serve, have served, and will serve in the United States Marine Corps.
